This Is Why I’m A Naked Rock Star | Thought Catalog

When we say that Elvis …is all about sex, what we’re really saying is that he aroused women and empowered men. Women thought Elvis was sexy, and men felt sexy acting like Elvis.

For all of the pole dancing, nipple slipping, and straight up sex talking of the Queens of Pop, it’s super important to note one simple fact: these women are not “eliciting arousal” from their audiences because their fans are predominantly women. …What they’re doing for their mostly female audience is what Elvis did for his male audience members: sexually empowering, not sexually arousing, them.

…I want to be free. I want to be sexual. I want to arouse my fans. And I don’t want to be slut-shamed for it.

When Is It OK To Profit From Cooking Other Cultures’ Food? You Weighed In : The Salt : NPR

We started a conversation about food and race. Who gets to cook and become the face of a culture’s cuisine? While our question was prompted by an interview with Rick Bayless, the issue transcends him.

When Is It OK To Profit From Cooking Other Cultures’ Food? You Weighed In : The Salt : NPR

Oh my god, seriously? We’re American, our cuisine is food from all over the globe. Obviously I’m all for respect other cultures but when does this self-effacing, I like to feel important by being more considerate -even in totally meaningless full of myself bullshit ways- than anyone else in the room post-PC madness.

What the fuck?

Seriously I hate most of the people who commented on this. Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you and your over sensitive bullshit.

Early Missteps Seen as a Drag on Bernie Sanders’s Campaign

The Democratic race could yet take unpredictable turns, and his campaign is vowing to win. If Mr. Sanders beats Mrs. Clinton in her adopted home state, New York, on April 19, he could raise damaging questions about her candidacy and gain more momentum. But he would still need to win a landslide victory there and in Pennsylvania, California and other states to overtake her in delegates this spring. For Mr. Sanders, the missteps of 2015 and early 2016 — leading to his delegate deficit — are the greatest drag on his recent success.
