NBC News reported Wednesday that the family’s Florida Thanksgiving was guarded by a contingent of at least 150 Secret Service personnel. A Homeland Security official told NBC News that the cost to the taxpayer of that operation alone would reach $7 million.

Trump’s security is currently running at than $2 million a day, according to internal Homeland Security and Secret Service documents reviewed by NBC News.

The Clinton campaign has thus far declined to act on the call, but Stein, who was also on the ballot in those states, can also initiate such a process. The Stein campaign has said explicitly that its recount effort is not meant to aid Clinton.

Trump leads Clinton by less than 1 percentage point in Michigan and Wisconsin and by 1.2% in Pennsylvania, according to a New York Times report.

Alex Halderman, the director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society, told the Clinton campaign they believe there is a questionable trend of Clinton performing worse in counties that relied on electronic voting machines compared to paper ballots and optical scanners, according to the source.
