Pete Buttigieg Does Not Want You to Read This Interview

Oh for Christ’s sake…. Why would anyone want to read an article like this anyways?

Here’s an idea, just present the interview. It’s damning on its own.

The adolescent name calling and bitching about the embedded press takes all of the author’s gravitas away and the end result is just the whining of some kid who wanted invited to sit at the cool kids table in the cafeteria. The entire substance of the author’s point is lost in the childish and ridiculous presentation.

Trump adviser Stephen Miller injected white nationalist agenda into Breitbart, investigation reveals

Senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller shaped the 2016 election coverage of the hard right-wing website Breitbart with material drawn from prominent white nationalists, Islamophobes, and far-right websites.

…Emails from Miller to a former Breitbart writer, sent before and after he joined the Trump campaign, show Miller obsessively focused on injecting white nationalist-style talking points on race and crime, Confederate monuments, and Islam into the far-right website’s campaign coverage.

…As Americans demanded the removal of Confederate statues and flags, Miller encouraged McHugh to turn the narrative back on leftists and Latinos.

…Miller used a US government email address during the early part of the correspondence, when he was an aide to senator Jeff Sessions, and then announced his new job on the Trump campaign, and a new email address, to recipients including McHugh.

As well as McHugh, recipients of his emails included others then at Breitbart who subsequently worked in the Trump administration, including Steve Bannon and current Trump aide, Julia Hahn.

Juan Williams: Heed Clinton’s warning on Tulsi Gabbard | TheHill

Gabbard is the star on far-right websites because Clinton correctly pointed out the Hawaii congresswoman could end up as a third-party candidate who divides the anti-Trump vote in 2020 and delivers a second term to the president.

…In 2016, Russian trolls and bots promoted the third-party candidacy of Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate whose vote totals in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania were big enough to argue she deprived Clinton of just enough support to hand victory to Trump.

…Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) fed the frenzy by tweeting last week that “it is outrageous for anyone to suggest that Tulsi is a foreign asset.”

Sanders owes Gabbard from the 2016 race. Gabbard resigned as a vice chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2016 to endorse Sanders.

…Gabbard has pledged that she will not be a third-party candidate.

But she plans to take whatever delegate support she wins in the primaries to the Democratic convention to pressure the nominee to hear her agenda for the party.

That means another possible split within the party with the telegenic Gabbard ready to diminish Democrats as captives of establishment politics — divided and out of touch with the base of the party.

Why would the Russians have an interest in her?

Exactly.

Hillary Clinton And Theories About Tulsi Gabbard

Opinion | Why Hillary Clinton Shouldn’t Trade in Conspiracy Theories About Tulsi Gabbard – The New York Times

If any politician in the history of this republic has the right to speculate about other’s intentions it’s probably someone whose intentions were shit on constantly, by all side, for more than 2 years.

Where the hell was this perspective in 2015 and 2016? Certainly not coming out of the author.

Hypocritical bullshit.

The media’s 2020 election coverage correction

There are many reasons Hillary Clinton lost the election, but the magnification of stories that ended up being meaningless was indisputably a prominent factor. It is also one factor that we can place squarely at the feet of media hungry for stories that rate, with little concern for the long-term implications [or facts].

…There were thousands of articles and countless TV segments dedicated to Clinton’s “crime” with a spike around former FBI Director James Comey’s decision not to bring charges against Clinton in August 2016 and then again when he announced the FBI was reopening the investigation just days before the election. This story was the original impetus for then-candidate Trump’s rally cry of “lock her up.” A Los Angeles Times analysis in August of 2016 found that “liar” and “corrupt” were the top two words most used when describing Clinton. And FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver argued that the Comey letter probably cost Clinton the election.

…Clinton was portrayed as professorial in an elitist and disconnected way. She was “too prepared.” ….Major publications and pundits openly mused about why Clinton was almost as disliked as Donald Trump.

Maybe the coverage had something to do with it? Clinton was the most admired woman in America for 17 years….

F’ the media and their “unbiased” bias. Left, right and center. F’ them all. They all ending up working for Putin and both truth and Democracy lost out to their cliquey,, gossipy, craven promotion of innuendo over facts.

More Builders Are Selling Homes Wired For Technology But Data Privacy Is At Stake

This partnership between builders and Amazon benefits both sides. Amazon wants to push for wider adoption of its Echo smart speaker. Lennar relies on Amazon to help distinguish it from other home builders.

…He wasn’t looking for a smart home, but …now he enjoys all the smart home features.

…His favorite is a Ring doorbell that logs visitors. “I have teenagers,” he said.

…On the one hand, it’s nice to ask Alexa to heat up the house before crawling out of bed in the winter. On the other, there’s all those cameras. “If I’m walking on our street, I walk on the other side of the street,” she said, meaning the side without the smart homes. “Just because I don’t feel like being on everyone’s cameras.”

…It’s not just cameras, even light switches capture information. “That data’s not just sitting there, just… empty,” he says. “Somebody’s gonna look at it and leverage it, to try to turn a profit, or try to create an ad, or try to create some revenue.”

Russian Trolls Came for Instagram, Too

Russia’s Internet Research Agency operated a vast network of accounts on Instagram that sought to infiltrate American identity groups, harden ideological divides and sow distrust in the American political system.

Much of the group’s activity was concentrated among several dozen large accounts, …[two] of which had more than 200,000 followers. Many of the group’s accounts targeted specific identity groups, including African-Americans, gun-rights supporters and anti-immigration activists.

In total, posts from Instagram accounts linked to the I.R.A. received nearly 185 million likes during the two-year period reviewed by the researchers, and about four million comments, according to the researchers.

…One post, made by an Instagram account called @feminism_tag, accused Ms. Clinton of insulting women who had accused her husband, Bill Clinton, of sexual misconduct. Another post targeted at African-American voters showed a manipulated image of Ms. Clinton with braided hair, and was captioned “when you need the black vote.”

In all, roughly 7 percent of the more than 100,000 Instagram posts included in the data set mentioned Ms. Clinton, while 11 percent mentioned Mr. Trump. There were no instances of pro-Clinton content on Instagram, according to the New Knowledge report.

…Several of the Instagram posts traced to Russia offered merchandise for sale.

Researchers suggested, selling merchandise …allowed Russians to collect names, addresses and other personal information from users; second, it allowed them to identify strong supporters of a cause, who could then be targeted with advertisements.

Julian Castro whines that NH not diverse enough to hold first primary, and if he didn’t succeed there it can’t be that he didn’t show up enough it has to be the fact that there are too many white people there

Reacting to Castro’s comments, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Raymond Buckley told WMUR, “I can imagine he’s frustrated but blaming his campaign’s challenges on the voters of Iowa and New Hampshire is a bit much.”

Julian Castro says NH not diverse enough to hold first primary, time for change

Man, he never stops whining, does he?

Surely his comments that the first four states aren’t diverse enough has NOTHING to do with the fact that his poll numners are in the basement.

Number one, don’t expect to do well in retail campaigning state without showing up. And more importantly, when you are asking for the most powerful job in the Western World don’t be a whiny little bitch when things don’t go your way.

Bye, Felicia!

Apple Co-Founder Says Apple Card Algorithm Gave Wife Lower Credit Limit

On Saturday, Wozniak chimed in with a similar experience, saying he got 10 times more credit on the card, compared with his wife.

“We have no separate bank or credit card accounts or any separate assets,” Wozniak said on Twitter, in reply to Hansson’s original tweet.

“Hard to get to a human for a correction though. It’s big tech in 2019.”

Viral Tweet About Apple Card Leads to Goldman Sachs Probe

Traditional lenders are upping their use of machines to decide who gets how much credit as part of a strategy to reduce costs and boost loan applications. Meanwhile, technology companies are moving in on the financial services industry’s turf, with businesses such as Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google offering loans and payment options.

…A series of posts from David Heinemeier Hansson starting Thursday railed against the Apple Card for giving him 20 times the credit limit that his wife got. The tweets, many of which contain profanity, immediately gained traction online, even attracting comment from Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Hansson didn’t disclose any specific income-related information for either of them but said they filed joint tax returns and that his wife has a better credit score than he does.

…“Goldman and Apple are delegating credit assessment to a black box,” Hansson said. “It’s not a gender-discrimination intent but it is a gender-discrimination outcome.”

…This is the second such action from the regulator in recent weeks. NY DFS opened a probe against health care giant UnitedHealth Group Inc. after a study found an algorithm favored white patients over black patients.
