Ex-Wells Fargo Employees Sue, Allege They Were Punished For Not Breaking Law

Wells Fargo staff secretly opened millions of unauthorized accounts to meet lofty sales targets. A class-action suit has been filed on behalf of employees who obeyed the law and failed to meet quotas.

The fact that does not at all surprise me or seem implausible saddens me.

No racism before Obama? Top Trump volunteer resigns after that comment

Mahoning County [Trump] campaign chair Kathy Miller [said that] racism didn’t exist before President Obama, and that African-Americans were to blame for the problems in their communities.

“I don’t think there was any racism until Obama got elected. We never had problems like this. …Now, with the people with the guns and shooting up neighborhoods and not being responsible citizens, that’s a big change and I think that’s the philosophy that Obama has perpetuated on America,” Miller said in the Guardian interview.

“If you’re black and you haven’t been successful in the last 50 years, it’s your own fault,” she added in the video, which was filmed outside of a county Republican picnic.

…Miller also said African Americans have “all the advantages” when it comes to education and said they only have themselves to blame if they haven’t achieved success in America.

She said African Americans aren’t finishing high school and are having children out of wedlock.

…“If people have jobs and go to work and do what they’re supposed to do, there is no racism,” she said.

Told by the reporter that African Americans might disagree with her, she replied “that’s because they’re not going to work.”

When asked whether she thought people might find her remarks offensive, she said, “I don’t care, it’s the truth.”

What an ignorant twat-waffle.

She deserves nothing but scorn for backwards, hateful, illogical and outright stupid remarks. I hope she is shunned from politics for life and it crushes her spirit and ultimately causes her early demise. Humanity doesn’t need any more mouth breathers.

This Republican mayor has an incredibly simple idea to help the homeless. And it seems to be working.

Screw the sing-songy tone of this article. The salient point here is that the people that services exist for have no knowledge of how to access them. This is a great story but that is a travesty.

Health Care Costs Grow Dramatically Slower Than Expected After Obamacare

A new report by the Urban Institute analyzing government projections in U.S. health care spending shows that it is growing at even slower rates than what was originally projected with the passage of Affordable Care Act. The study predicts that the U.S. will spend $2.6 trillion less on health care between 2014-2019 than what was initially anticipated when Obamacare was passed in 2010.

“Health care costs have had several years of really historic low spending during the period, so overall, public programs, private spending is all less than we thought it would be,” said Gary Claxton, vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation. “Each year we see spending going up 3 percent, 2 percent, whatever, and not 5 percent, and because that stuff compounds, when it continues to go up more slowly … it starts to really add up.”

What pundits keep getting wrong about Donald Trump and the working class.

The truth is that it’s inaccurate to talk about Trump’s “working-class appeal.” What Trump has, instead, is a message tailored to a conservative portion of white workers. These voters aren’t the struggling whites of Appalachia or the old Rust Belt, in part because those workers don’t vote, and there’s no evidence Trump has turned them out. Instead, Trump is winning those whites with middle-class incomes. Given his strength in unionized areas like the Northeast, some are blue collar and culturally working class. But many others are not. Many others are what we would simply call Republicans.
