A few analysts even contend the oil spill could become a deepwater version of Three Mile Island, the 1979 accident that brought an end to nuclear power plant construction in the United States, and from which the industry has yet to recover.

We can only hope.

These guys are really something.

BP’s first priority is to camouflage the amount of oil that has been spilled and control the press as much as possible. Period.

Sure the US government is in charge down there. Sure it is. Keep telling yourself that. Clearly they don’t feel any real pressure from the US to change anything they are doing.

I’m watching a press conference on CNN right now. The Coast Guard guy keeps saying something about how BP has the means of production and they should be the ones cleaning up the site.

Clearly that’s not working, dumb ass.

I don’t think he really see the gravity of the solution. He sounds like a BP employee. He sounds like the government isn’t able to clean up the oil spill and they don’t even have the knowledge to be able to direct BP in any meaningful way.
