Obama’s day: From the Windy City to the Gulf and back

Obama’s day: From the Windy City to the Gulf and back – The Oval: Tracking the Obama presidency

Enjoy the long weekend my ass. Who is this guy, Bush? Going on vacation when the public seems to be under the impression that there are serious matters at hand that merit his attention?

Douche.

All those consumed with concern about whether or not his job will disrupt poor Barack’s vacations plans can rest assured. He was on the ground in the Gulf States for a mere four hours and twenty-three minutes. Can we say drive-by photo-op?

Obama’s honeymoon with media has degenerated into a troubled marriage

On the media: Obama’s honeymoon with media has degenerated into a troubled marriage – latimes.com

It’s been a bad month when you are President Obama and some of the most understanding words on your response to an emergency of unprecedented proportions have come from Bill O’Reilly, Charles Krauthammer and Jonah Goldberg

He needs to jettison the detached-above-it-all air and listen. Or at least pretend. Pretend a lot better than he has been doing or he is going to become one serious liability to the Democrats.

Not veering from his own course when conditions come up might sink the ship before it has a chance to make it very far out of port.

Obama Security Policy Stresses Diplomacy, Development and Coalitions

Number One article on the Google News Page when I typed in Obama. Not much came up on his brief visit to the Gulf. Apparently he wasn’t there very long. Or at least not even happened to rate a particularly high placement on the page.

I did notice that he is catching flack for being away from Arlington for the holiday. Really? He’s not even going to stop by? Either he’s getting really bad advice or he really sucks at this.

Gates to troops: no gay ban repeal imminent

Gates to troops: no gay ban repeal imminent | Reuters

Fuck what the military wants. They didn’t want to integrate either. The military serves the country and every single member of the military takes orders from someone. If they don’t like it, tough. They serve us and not the other way around.

If the order is given to allow gays and lesbians to serve openly, the US military needs to act like members of a well disciplined military and follow their fucking orders.

BP Manages Neither Oil Spill Nor Public Expectations

BP Manages Neither Oil Spill Nor Public Expectations – TIME

“This is clearly an environmental catastrophe. There are no two ways about it,” Tony Hayward, the CEO of BP, acknowledged on CNN Friday morning, May 28. If that was not news to the residents of the Gulf, it seemed to be to BP, which had spent weeks arguing that the damage could be controlled and contained.

I’m sorry. What BP credibility?

Obama increases manpower in Gulf region

Obama increases manpower in Gulf region

About time Barack!

BTW Obama, this isn’t your Katrina. It’s your Monica and unfortunately this is yet another example that you are no teflon Willy. You simply do not have the ability keep your ratings up or your ear to the ground to understand what the country is feeling. If you don’t want to be a one-term-er you best your act together, like, yesterday!

Those who think that we were either slow on our response or lacked urgency don’t know the facts. This has been our highest priority since this crisis occurred.”

Clearly it has. The White House has been bending over backwards to shield their good friends and corporate sponsors, BP. They care a lot about keeping them safe at the expense of our environment, coastline economy and gulf coast residents. That has been very apparent since day one.

Pelosi’s Bad Hair Day: Salon Collects Hair for Gulf Oil Cleanup

Pelosi’s Bad Hair Day: Salon Collects Hair for Gulf Oil Cleanup – Washington Wire – WSJ

So, Pelosi’s too much of a snob to think outside the box or see the value in empowering people who want to help…

I do like her complaining about the lack of clean-up technology. It’s just too bad she had to show the stick in her ass over the hair clippings though. It’s new. It works. It was created by citizens because the government and oil industry couldn’t be bothered. Sort of an allegory for the only chance we have of saving our coastline. Clearly the government is not going to be ANY help AT ALL.

100,000 teachers nationwide face layoffs

100,000 teachers nationwide face layoffs

Back to reality.

Obama, the education teacher.

…The kind of education a kid gives themselves on the streets or in jail that is apparently.

So much for improving education and making it more accessible to everyone, everywhere. He couldn’t have had something in place by now to avoid travesties like this? Oh right, he was too busy arrogantly putting all of his eggs in one basket for 15 months and not-so-secretly giving oral sex to Big Oil.

Senate panel, House approve ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ compromise plan

Senate panel, House approve ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ compromise plan – CNN.com

A major problem might be determining how to reconcile the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” with federal law that defines marriage as between a man a woman, the official added.

Hadn’t thought of that. DADT needs to go. That part is simple. It just got a little bit more interesting though.
