In this week’s Sunday Conversation, host Rachel Martin speaks with Col. Jeannie Leavitt, the Air Force’s first female fighter pilot, about gender in the Air Force. Leavitt is also the first female fighter wing commander, and she has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Donald Trump vowed to deport Jeb Bush’s Mexican-born wife on Monday as he called to end the policy of citizenship by marriage.“She has to go,” Trump said via conference call of Jeb Bush’s Mexican-American wife, adding: “What she’s doing, she’s having sex with an American. And then all of a sudden she’s American? That doesn’t make her American.”

Spouses of United States citizens have been able gain permanent resident status and seek citizenship (after 3 years) since the adoption of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution in 1868.

On the conference call one reporter asked if Trump’s policy would affect his own wife Melania, who immigrated to the USA from her native country of Slovenia.“No, Melania is a beautiful piece of ass so this doesn’t apply to her. We’re talking about Mexicans here, stop trying to change the subject. Go back to Mexico!”

At first, I was resistant to the idea of my young girls (ages 7 and 11) playing video games. My sons — and husband — have always been the “gaming” junkies in our household. My girls have been more interested in singing, dancing and finding any excuse to be up on stage.

FDA Orders Dr. Joseph Mercola to Stop Illegal Claims

One of the issues here is that the FDA are not in any sense of the words, particularly good at their jobs.  Nor are they unassailable in terms of their propensity to be swayed by lobbyists.

IMHO those who argue against vaccinations are putting the health of the members of the larger society at risk but I’d like to see some of the science behind these complaints:

  • Fluoride Action Network (FAN), the leading promoter of misinformation about fluoridation
  • Institute for Responsible Technology, which understates the benefits and exaggerates the risks of genetically modification of foods
  • Consumers for Dental Choice, which vigorously attacks amalgam use with misinformation, propaganda, lobbying, and lawsuits
  • Organic Consumers Association, which irresponsibly promotes unpasteurized milk and spreads false alarms about food irradiation, agricultural biotechnology, and vaccines.
