Police Union Turns Its Back On Cop Who Killed Innocent Man In Brooklyn Stairwell: Gothamist

“The two guys who showed up were wearing windbreakers, not even suits. They looked like gangsters, and here’s a cop in Brooklyn Supreme Court, fighting for his life.”

Police Union Turns Its Back On Cop Who Killed Innocent Man In Brooklyn Stairwell: Gothamist

Snicker. Police unions are gangsters and anyone who upholds the thin blue line rather than justice for the innocent deserves a lot worse than this shithead murderer is going to get.

The Dean Scream—Howard Dean’s Iowa Caucus Speech: An Oral History

The yelp heard around the world.

The Dean Scream—Howard Dean’s Iowa Caucus Speech: An Oral History

Dean was an over-hyped do-nothing liberal fairy tale (ahem just like someone else and our current President)
His candidacy did no more to change American politics than I have changed the face of American politics.
Why the fuck can’t these morons give up that stupid fantasy?
We get it, you believed in him.
Now, it’s your turn to get something, he did nothing and it was an over-hyped loser of a campaign that didn’t make it past the 1st contest. Stop spewing bullshit, go home and get back to what you do best: annoying people by spamming their inboxes with unsolicited emails and daily asks for money.

Yawn.

Yawn.

Iowa and New Hampshire wield too much influence. The US needs a national primary – Quartz

Yawn.

1.) Early primaries/caucuses in smaller, rural states allow candidates with less money in their war chest to get exposure that they would never get in a nation-wide primary. (Think of the ad buys!)

2.) 2008 proved that neight of the first two states unduly influences the election.

3.) the national platforms of both parties re better served by a more drawn out process that allows for less popular or less well funded candidates to remain in the discussion.

Enough already. If the primary system is the worst thing you can come up with about our political system you must be living under a rock.

Peter Liang Trial Continues — NYMag

The second day of the NYPD officer’s trial continues.

[Miguel Riveria] said that he heard Liang’s partner ask the officer to call in the shooting repeatedly. Officer Salvatore Tramontana said that he didn’t have his gun out when entering the stairwell, and that he immediately began doing CPR on Gurley, taking over from his girlfriend, when he arrived, something that neither Liang or his partner had managed to do.
