His cynical awareness of the BP spill aside, this guy was clearly a very, very messed up individual. As a country, a society, and a people it would be very nice to see us wake up to the possibility it was his psychosis – and not his particular flavor of faith – that caused these actions.

Russian spies hack U.S. Democratic Party computers

Russian government hackers penetrated the computer network of the Democratic National Committee and gained access to the entire database of opposition research on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday. “The intruders so thoroughly compromised the DNC’s system they also were able to read all e-mail and chat traffic,” the paper said, citing committee officials and security experts. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, confirmed the breach.

Bernie Sanders’ electability argument is still a myth.

…The fear, then, was that Sanders would win the most pledged delegates but that Hillary Clinton would use her pull with insiders to trump the popular will.

It is more than a little ironic, then, that Sanders is now urging those same insiders to ignore the intention of the primary electorate—which has given Clinton an edge in both pledged delegates and raw votes—and bequeath the nomination to him instead.

Blaming Muslims After Attack, Donald Trump Tosses Pluralism Aside

Mr. Trump’s speech, delivered at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H., represented an extraordinary break from the longstanding rhetorical norms of American presidential nominees. But if his language more closely resembled a European nationalist’s than a mainstream Republican’s, he was wagering that voters are stirred more by their fears of Islamic terrorism than any concerns they may have about his flouting traditions of tolerance and respect for religious diversity.

Hillary Clinton Made History, but Bernie Sanders Stubbornly Ignored It

In a speech of striking stubbornness, he ignored the history-making achievement of his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, who became the first woman in American history to clinch the nomination of major political party.

Mr. Sanders waited until 15 minutes into his speech to utter Mrs. Clinton’s name. He referred, almost in passing, to a telephone conversation in which he had congratulated her on her victories. At that, the crowd of more than 3,000 inside an aging airport hanger booed loudly. Mr. Sanders did little to discourage them.

Clinton Touts Historic Night

Clinton won in New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota and was leading in California, while Sanders notched victories in Montana and the North Dakota caucuses.

“Tonight’s victory is not about one person; it belongs to generations of women and men who sacrificed and made this moment possible,” Clinton told a cheering crowd in Brooklyn, N.Y., exactly eight years after she fell short in her first quest for the presidency to Barack Obama.

She thanked Sanders for the “vigorous debate” he and his supporters have spurred on economic inequality, calling it “good for the Democratic Party.”

Clinton’s campaign and other Democrats point out that at this point, her lead over Sanders is nearly three times larger than President Obama’s was over Clinton in their 2008 primary fight. With her wins Tuesday, she also claimed a majority of the pledged delegates throughout the campaign cycle.

But with Clinton’s speech and in a video unveiled earlier Tuesday, she was already looking ahead to November and reminding voters that she has broken one of the thickest glass ceilings in political history.
