Oh Democracy Now, why must you be so…. you

Even though these articles have interesting topics I can’t read them.
Democracy Now is just too “everything that is bad about progressives and why everyone else hates them” for me to stomach it.

BBC News – BP to fund $20bn Gulf of Mexico oil spill payout

BBC News – BP to fund $20bn Gulf of Mexico oil spill payout

Although BP has agreed to fund $20bn – roughly equivalent to one year of BP’s annual profits – reports said there could be no cap on the amount BP might be asked to contribute to the fund.

The company will pay $5bn into the fund, called an escrow fund, before the end of 2010, plus $1bn per quarter for the following three years.

Imagine what American reporters say about the people from the BBC when they aren’t in earshot, “There they go again. Including all of those factual details in their stories again. Like journalism has anything to do reporting all of the facts. Even their graphics suck. Losers.”

Facts. Those crazy kids at the BBC.

BP agrees to $20 billion fund for gulf oil spill claims

The 100 mill is bullshit but gotta hand it to Masengill, the 20 billion paid over four years, with no indemnity from paying more, while the Gov holds equivalent assets in escrow until the amount is paid is nice work.

Side note…. I’ve heard people referring to the Swedish guy’s gaffe as a matter of the idiom not be translated well from English to Swedish and back. Perhaps the fuzzy translation was more a matter of cultural language. In the US a man in his position does not want to be known as looking out for the little guy, he wants to be known for being one of them. We do looooove our pseudo-pop-populism here, on both sides of the isle.
