Working Women’s Fantasies – The Daily Beast

God save our culture from the pop psychology that is the Daily Beast.
they are so, so part of the problem.
Where they hell do they dream up this baseless bullshit?
Try editorializing a little less guys.
Or a little more, go all the way to Mommy Porn magazine filtered through the bizarre parallel universe that no one lives in but is featured on every cable news show and every commercial on TV.

for example, “myriad and disparate fantasies of submission at a moment when women are ascendant in the workplace.”

Really Daily Beast, so your staff in now experts with access to definitive information about what every single woman in America fantasizes about? You guys are regular fucking Kinsey’s aren’t you???!

Newsflash dipshits: a couple of movies and a book or two that include a similar theme isn’t a trend in our culture, it’s a lack of imagination in Hollywood. Did everyone in the 70’s fantasize about kissing their sister and fencing to the death with their father? No? Geez, those Star Wars movies were so popular though…

Women are ascendant in the workplace right now? Um, bullshit. Look at how many female CEO’s and CFO’s there are. Compare that number to twelve years ago. Changed much? Um, nope. Record numbers of educated women are “choosing” the Mommy track and we are right back to where we were in the 70’s. Keeping the house and raising children is woman’s job. Employment pays women less for the same work and men are expected to be the provider.

Gawd you guys are more insipid and full of hot air and bullshit than CNN’s afternoon daytime anchors!

I just read some bullshit from an older (baby boomer -ish) woman about how some women are lucky enough to be able to choose to stay home with the children but some work have to work.

You know what?

Fuck you, you sanctimonious twat. Oh lucky women get to choose to stay home and be nothing more than a housewife dependant on her man for the clothes on back, the food she eats and the roof over her head? Lucky, lucky them.

What if, gasp, a woman chooses not to stay home with her children? What if a woman chooses not to have her status as a mother 100% define who she is? What if a woman WANTS to work outside the home?  Why does this choice make her less “lucky” than a 1950’s housewife?

The values implicit in this whole discussion make me want to throw up.

Some women have to work, some women choose to stay home and some women CHOOSE to work outside the home. Apparently these poor suckers haven’t realized that the proper choice was to be barefoot, pregnant and beholden to a man for your very subsitence. Poor dears!
