BBC News – Secret US Senate report details CIA abuse######.
Highlights:
“Officials familiar with the secret document said that the CIA’s interrogation programme yielded little useful intelligence. They also said that this intelligence had then been exaggerated so that the interrogation programme looked more effective than it actually was.”
“Officials at the CIA’s headquarters ordered officers to continue with harsh interrogations even after they were convinced that the prisoners had no more information to give,”
Wonderful, the CIA is not only psychotic but incompetent. Great!

The decline of international adoption – CNN.com.
As far as I can tell, nowhere to be found in any of the coverage of adoption that has been creeping into the mainstream over the past few years is any real look at how the US is stemming the ability of Americans to adopt internationally by a woeful lack of oversight in this country.
Our laws, and our society, seem not to equate adoption with parenthood. When adoptive parents neglect their children, they face far less consequences than a biological parent. That is ridiculous.
It also seems to me that it is incumbent upon the US to make sure that the children being adopted are actually eligible to be adopted.
There needs to be greater oversight on the adoption agencies, as well as the criminalization of abandoning an adopted child on the federal level, in order get back on the right rack again.
Who is served by stemming the tide of needy children being internationally adopted by deserving families? Only those who want to keep the United States a place where white people rule and we are all defined by the color of our skin.
