This search for the “smoking gun” of reasons why these shootings happen just sucks. I mean, we’re way beyond simple solutions and “change one thing” thinking anyway–seriously, the world isn’t going to suddenly become sunshine and rainbows if we get rid of violent media.
I’m annoyed at the thought. Yes, I do think there’s too much violence in the media myself, but we’re a violent species anyway. That violence in media wouldn’t be there if we didn’t already have something violent in ourselves that lets us consume it. Sheesh.
