Hijab [is not at all anything resembling a] feminist statement

Hijab the ultimate feminist statement | Jack The Lad | Jack The Lad

Um, nahhhh dude.
This is actually the opposite of feminism.

In each of your stories the women are referred to as objects, not individuals.
…Objects without agency of their own whose worth is increased the less they participate in life or society. Even if one is to credit you with the best of intentions, you’re still spouting nonsense. You’re not even in the neighborhood of anything that resembles the truth of what feminism actually is, let alone the same ballpark.

No, no, no, nope.

If you actually think any of these patronizing anecdotes resembles anything close to feminism you need a better dictionary.

  1. To break it down further…
If I wrote a long poem or song which I claimed was extolling the virtues of the game of cricket, and in my verses I spoke lovingly of dribbling a pentagonal and hexagonal bedecked ball down the field and kicking it past the goalie to score?
Well, those words are not about the game of cricket.
In fact, they have nothing to do with cricket.
I would be speaking about something that is not cricket at all.
I’m talking about football (or for the Americans in the group: soccer.)
I might love the game of soccer very much and I might have written some very stirring lines about it.
..But I still wasn’t referring to cricket.

  2. You’re not too bright, are ya lad?
I completely get the purpose of what was said.
Not sure how anyone who is awake and not in a coma could have missed that.
I also stand by my statements that you were not speaking about anything that resembles feminism.
Projecting your comprehension problems onto me accomplishes zilch.
That shoe doesn’t fit and I ain’t about to wear it.
