Operative sentence here: “Most of the countries Eichhorn studied offer their citizens much more substantial benefits than Americans enjoy when they lose a job.”
It’s not apples to apples. The American system of benefits is so much less supportive that parallel conclusions are rendered useless. I’m curious as to what the same study based on US employment would look like. Especially curious to see if not giving people enough to get by on un-incentivizes the American unemployed.
