African Americans, particularly men have it really, really bad. In terms of priviledge vs. hardship they have born the brunt of a lot of hateful hearts.
I’m betting Native Americans, Japanese citizens during WWII and the members of each new wave of immigration might add that racism is more of scatter shot than a direct hit on any one group in society though.
From this point of view it seems more accurate to state that race in the United States has long been defined within the parameters of black and white and as a result African Americans had it especially hard.
Oh, and Bob Cousy is a freakin’ rock star and unbelievably stand-up guy whose sensitivity to race back in the day was, way, way before his time. Just gotta put that out there while I’m splitting hairs.
