Mehhh, I like where he is going here in terms of pointing out that when you use that filter to explain things, or even establish how others see things, you risk starting to use that filter to see things and it can become hard to get away from or see without it seeing everything through it. By definition, if you are seeing things through a filter you are not seeing everything.
..But!
I think that some might say that race is so omni-present in society that not to include it in any explination of society is to miss a big part of what is going on.
