Israel’s easing of Gaza blockade doesn’t address banking, travel rules – CSMonitor.com

A good start but I hope the push for an investigation into the attack on the Turkish flotilla doesn’t diminish on iota in the light of this.

One of the things that bugs me so much about the Israeli government’s treatment of the Palestinian population is that it is so counterproductive.

Their tactics serve only to remove all peaceful opportunities for the residents of Gaza to improve the quality of their lives. Without the ability to properly care for and educate their young people, without any economic opportunities, what exactly does the Israeli government think the Palestinians are going to spend their time doing? Sit around and get very angry perhaps? What avenues are left for them to express their dissatisfaction with the completely racist and unfair treatment they receive at the hands of their neighbor other than violence?

It’s just so self-defeating on the part of the government of Israel.

Unless, of course, the plan is to push the Palestinians into open violent revolt so that Israeli government finally has an excuse to exterminate the entire population…

…Which sounds a little familiar if you think about it.
