As Mideast talks begin, Palestinians find unlikely support from Jewish settlers – CSMonitor.com

I liked this article.

Up until this point:

“Moreover, Palestinians don’t want to live alongside the Jewish settlers, says Hebrew University political scientist Yaron Ezrahi, highlighting how West Bank Palestinians have already banned all goods made by Jewish settlers, including plastic furniture and seltzer machines.”

They threw this is as a credible source of observation???

One plus one does not equal seven.

To put it another way:

Mr. Ezrahi apparently characterized the fact that settler-made goods are banned as evidence that Palestinians don’t want to live among Israeli settlers. Even if you put aside the slippery slope of inferring how people feel by watching the way their governing bodies’ act there is not any factual connection being made.

By imposing such a ban all the Palestinians are doing is making a statement that they do not recognize the settler’s right to be there and they will not help them succeed by feeding the settlers’ economic success any more than they have to. Governments ban goods from countries they are in conflict with all of the time, even more so when physical force is not an option. Embargo’s are common among the most “civilized” of governments.

The connection Mr. Ezrahi refers to does not exist. The emotional conjecture he makes only leaves room for speculation as to how his bias affects his reasoning.

What a hot mess.

Tased in His Own House: California Man Sues Police After Disturbing Visit – ABC News

I long for a world in which the police are held to the same standards they supposedly uphold. Any normal citizen who used deadly force on someone because they were afraid of that person harming themselves would not only be arrested of attempted murder but forced into a state-mandated evaluation of their own sanity and ability to tell right from wrong.

Until police officers know that they are not above the law they will continue to abuse the citizenry.

…um because it’s stupid to try and regulate out of existence human nature and instead of going after the bullies they should be teaching kids to stand up for themselves instead of reinforcing patterns of unempowered victimhood that will haunt this generation and everything they touch?

I’m randomly selecting this article as an example what I can’t stand about liberals.

They are always preaching to the choir.

They must be.

No one in their right mind would think anything real liberals say is designed to win anybody over.

Example A: this article.

Generic liberal writer starts off with some important points about to keep in mind about a current debate.

…points that could very well be used to drown out the opposition’s position in the hearts and minds of voters.

Liberals sometimes start off well but can they keep they keep their ideas in their pants and stick to winning people over?

Nooooooooooo. That would be too logical for a bunch of educated thinkers.

Liberals have to jizz all over their audience and just keep spewing more and more liberal shit until they are talking about things that are antithetical to everyone but the choir.

Conservatives don’t do this. They keep it simple. They stay on point. They take care not to be off-putting. Conservatives wouldn’t waste a perfect opportunity to keep hammering home their refutations of the other side until the folks at home could sing along.

/Sigh…

Fucking liberals.
