Senseless tragedy, made all the more so by the fact that these officers will get the justice that so many in our cities and towns do not: public acknowledgement that the perpetrator is in the wrong.
Of course there are some cops who are good people but until departments stop protecting each other more than they do the citizens they are sworn to protect the uniform is soiled and everyone wearing it deserves what they get.

Two things jump out here:

sigh… not to say anyoe is missing the forest for the trees or anything but wouldn’t people using that hashtag be at least marginally aware of how good they have it? I mean, isn’t that at least part of the intent of using the hashtag in the first place?
The hashtag #firstworldproblems is often used to say something like,
“Your/my problem may be annoying, but there are much worse things happening in the world.” Phrased this way, …it builds a useful sense that one’s problems are not the only significant things in the world.
Here’s a First World problem: the inability to see that others are as fully complex and as keen on technology and pleasure as you are.
