Jerusalem (AFP) – Israel stepped up efforts to crush Hamas in the West Bank Tuesday as the hunt for three Israeli teenagers believed kidnapped by the Islamist movement entered its fifth day. [Emphasis mine]

The effort to crush Hamas is the real story here. Israel is using the disappearance of 3 teenagers as cover for their true agenda: extermination of their neighbors.

Meeting again Tuesday for three hours, the security cabinet decided to further “increase pressure” on Hamas, an official told AFP, saying there was “a discussion about steps that can be taken against Hamas prisoners.”

Because employing torture doesn’t make them monsters. Oh wait, yes it does.

Writing in Yediot Aharonot, Alex Fishman said the kidnapping had created a “one-time operational opportunity” that Israel would use to “castrate” Hamas and suppress its “strongholds in Palestinian Authority territory to the greatest extent possible.”

….Or at least galvanize the resolve of their victims to endure through sheer hatred.
