I get the whole leaving this out to make your point thing but come on! your point would be better made if you pointed out that extremists in any religion are assholes instead of this insultingly Pollyanna bullshit.

Yes, all cultures have dressing norms but it seems rather biased to pretend that morality police do not exist in many countries to make sure women dress in a certain way, whether they want to or not.

No, Malala’s troubles do not stem from being Muslim but they do stem from extremist Muslims thinking they know better than she does and she is far, far from alone in her plight.

Perhaps I am wrong but I find it hard to believe that many women in rural areas of the Middle East are making their own decisions about marriage so the Egyptian example the author brings up falls a little flat.

Great idea for an article, piss poor execution of an idea. 

I think women and Muslim women in particular would be better served by having someone who is less of an ignorant jizzbag with an agenda speak for them.
