Pundits need to find something compelling to say for every story, even when they have nothing to say. Blame the 24 hour news cycle and the corporate destruction of the profession of journalism.

Pundits are in the same boat as reporters. It is not their job to relay facts for facts sake. It is their job to repeated make statements which support a position chosen by their sponsors. Facts and news never come into.
