I worked for a PR firm once. We called news stations in Florida pitching a story about informal poll numbers gathered by tracking which Presidential candidate masks were more popular at Party stores. The only supplier of these masks was our client.
When I read an article in the back of my mind there is the questions, who pitched this, what are they trying to say, what are they trying to accomplish? (Are all stories pitched? Well, it’s not like reporters do any actual journaliusm anymore…)
