British Judge: Christian Beliefs Have No Legal Standing

In England the crown is the head of the Church. Heck my Christian denomination, Episcopalians, came about because after the US won the revolutionary war Anglicans were suspected of treason through the affirmation of this. In order to prove their loyalty to their new nation they had to form a new Anglican religion, one where Church stayed separate from state.

It’s a little ironic that this ruling came down across the pond instead of here.

The thing I never get about the secular vs. religious battle is why these religious people spend so much time taking on secular law and trying to have their own religion’s law become the encoded in state law as well is that if one’s God is omnipotent, wouldn’t the religious law supersede any laws the state can pass anyways?

I would think it that is unnecessary and almost an insult to say that one’s God’s law isn’t law unless the state makes it a law as well. Maybe that’s just me.
